The Ladies’ Club is one of the shows that viewers of the STVR Unit associate with interviews, practical topics and well-known presenters. The show is accompanied by Karin Majtánová, Iveta Malachovská, Soňa Müllerová and Andrea Chabroňová for a long time.
Most recently, Erika Kandráčová joined them, who is supposed to take turns with Soňa Müllerová as moderator. In addition to the expanded line-up, the show has recently attracted attention for the viewers’ reactions to two of its prominent faces.
The audience was divided by the performance of the experienced presenter
After the case of Karin Majtánová, the attention of part of the audience shifted to Iveta Malachovská, as the portal pointed out Plus ONE DAY. She is one of the longest-serving faces of the Women’s Club, but viewers on social networks do not always rate her presentation lightly.
The most common complaint concerns the fact that, according to critics, he often interrupts the guests. Some viewers claim that he does not give the guests the space to calmly finish the answer, and the interview therefore seems rushed to them.
The discussion started more significantly after the part in which a vegetable cake was prepared in the studio in several variations. The guest was a cook and it was Malachovská who assisted him in cooking.
It was this situation that caused sharp reactions. “She’s rapping again and overtaking the cook. With her, I have the feeling that someone is still chasing her. It’s interesting that the other presenters are fine,” wrote an angry viewer.
Other viewers claimed that they have been seeing a similar style for years, not just in one show. “He’s been talking to the guests like this for many years. That’s why I don’t watch Ladies’ Club anymore. It’s just not possible,” added another viewer.
Dissatisfaction did not concern only the guests, but also, according to the commentators, fellow presenters. “She makes me nervous too. She asks a question and answers it herself,” others respond. “She doesn’t just talk to the guests, but also to her colleagues!”
Comments also increased after famous guests
The audience’s reservations did not end after cooking in the studio. Memories of the edition in which Dara Rollins was a guest also appeared in the comments.
Some followers were bothered by the fact that, according to them, the moderator entered the answers too often. “Even Dare jumped in, but Darinka didn’t give in!” the audience called out.
A part of the audience reacted even more sensitively during the doctor’s visit. In the case of professional topics, viewers expect to get as much space as possible, especially answers from the invited expert.
Therefore, the comments took on an even sharper tone. “She has a degree in medicine? She doesn’t realize how she behaves, she jumps into everyone’s mouth, she clearly doesn’t know etiquette!!! Every day she is criticized for her jumping into her mouth and nobody does anything about it,” the comments say.
Another viewer reacted similarly, criticizing in particular the interference in professional interviews. “People criticize her, but nothing happens, they’re probably afraid to tell her. Jumping into the conversation and directing even the cooks is terrible. And when she does it to a doctor, that’s the height of her unprofessionalism,” another viewer wrote.
Viewer Anna even suggested that the situation should be addressed by the management of the show. “Can’t the management really see it or is it there because of patronage? It’s time to change it. I see that it bothers not only me, but many viewers, so they could deal with it,” writes one of the viewers.
Shortly before, the women’s club dealt with the return after a one-month break
However, the women’s club only recently came to the attention of Karin Majtánová as well. As we already are they informedthe presenter returned to the cameras after a short forced break and appeared again alongside Sona Müller.
Her return was pointed out by a post on the show’s social network, which was also noticed by the editors Aktuality.sk. Subsequently, there was also a confirmation from the Slovak Television and Radio that the presenter is already performing on the air again.
Telerazhlas provided an opinion to the editors of Aktuality.sk regarding the return. He stated that “Karin Majtánová returned to the screens of STVR today after her temporary withdrawal from the broadcast of the Ladies’ Club show.”
Her month-long absence was related to a performance at an event in Bánovce nad Bebravou organized by the Smer party. The event was attended by several representatives of government policy, including ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister and Prime Minister Robert Fico.
According to available information, Majtánová was not only there as a regular participant. She moderated the program, addressed the crowd, gave organizational instructions, helped guide people with tickets for refreshments, and her singing was part of the program.
The moment with the prime minister and the May Day tradition of a kiss under a blooming cherry tree attracted the most attention. Robert Fico addressed the audience with the words: “So please, if the one you want to kiss isn’t standing next to you, grab the first one you have at hand and kiss her properly,” he told the crowd of thousands.
When he left after the speech, Majtánová started calling him back through the microphone. “Mr. Prime Minister, Mr. Prime Minister, Mr. Prime Minister!” she shouted at him. “Aren’t I the closest now?” she asked him. “Please?” he went back to find out what she said. “Aren’t I the closest now? Aren’t I the closest?” she repeated into the microphone.
The prime minister returned to her and kissed her on both cheeks. Majtánová then commented on the situation in front of the audience with a laugh. “He said it himself, didn’t he??? Come on… We are here because we all like each other very much, we want to spend a pleasant event with such special guests as the Prime Minister and his entire suite,” Majtánová responded with a laugh.
After publishing the images, STVR stated that it did not know about this activity in advance. “STVR was not informed in advance about the private work activity of the presenter. We consider the participation of a moderator or editor of STVR at a political meeting of any political party to be inappropriate and incompatible with the ethical code of STVR,” the broadcaster said in an official statement.
The management subsequently decided to temporarily withdraw the presenter from the show, while Andrea Chabroňová was to host the Ladies’ Club during her absence. “STVR temporarily withdraws the presenter Karin Majtánová from the broadcast of the Ladies’ Club show for a period of one month in connection with her public appearance at an event of a political entity. STVR respects the civil rights, personal attitudes and professional freedom of its employees and associates. However, at the same time, it expects the faces of the public media to avoid activities that may raise doubts about the impartiality and credibility of the broadcast. This is a measure taken with in order to preserve the public’s trust in the independence and impartiality of STVR. During her absence, the show will be moderated by Andrea Chabroňová,” read the statement of the STVR management.
