Miloš Vučević, chairman of the governing Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and former prime minister of Serbia, is confident that Péter Magyar will recognize the importance of relations between Serbia and Hungary and will strive to further strengthen them.
Appearing as a guest on Pink Television, the politician announced that negotiations are underway with representatives of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (VMSZ) and emphasized that the SNS remains committed to its strategic partnership with the VMSZ.
He also thanked Viktor Orbán and his cabinet for improving Serbian-Hungarian relations.
“Orbán demonstrated his greatness in the way he behaved after the defeat. I believe in that kind of conduct,” emphasized Miloš Vučević. The SNS president emphasized that Serbia is open to Hungary’s new government, and President Aleksandar Vučić has made this clear as well.

Speaking about the situation of Hungarians in Vojvodina, he highlighted that the SNS continues to view the VMSZ as a strategic partner.
“This is the important legacy of former President Tomislav Nikolić, President Aleksandar Vučić, and the late István Pásztor, and we will preserve it; our partnership is solid and stable,” he said.
While Serbia stresses continuity in its relations with Hungary, a new initiative called “Vajdasági Magyar Újrakezdés” (Vojvodina Hungarian New Beginning) was launched in Senta (Zenta), formed through the collaboration of several civil society and political groups. According to the organizers, their goal is to transform Hungarian political and cultural life in Vojvodina and to reform the current institutional system. In their statement, they expressed their support for Péter Magyar and the Tisza Party. The initiative calls for the reform of the Hungarian National Council, the strengthening of media independence, and transparency in economic development programs.
