In connection with the news spread on social media about the torture of a person detained in the investigative detention center No. 4 in Bukhara region, investigation actions have been started against some employees. The situation was monitored by the Ombudsman.
According to the information service of the Human Rights Representative (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis, studies have been carried out in connection with the information spread on social networks that a mandatory statement is being taken from a person detained in an investigative detention center. done.
For this purpose, the regional representative of the Ombudsman in the Bukhara region went to the institution within the scope of the powers established by the law and studied the circumstances mentioned in the appeal on the spot. In particular, a live interview was conducted with the person mentioned in the appeal, the conditions of his detention, the circumstances described in the appeal, and the presence or absence of injury marks on his body were checked.
It was reported that, in connection with the situation, investigation efforts have been started against some employees of the investigative detention center No. 4. At the same time, a forensic examination was appointed against the person mentioned in the appeal.
The documents and materials collected during the study were submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bukhara Region for procedural consideration in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The ombudsman informed that he will monitor the results of the studies and investigations conducted in this case within the scope of his powers.
