MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has lifted all restrictions on Belarusian and Russian athletes, BelTA learned from the organization’s press service.
Athletes from Belarus and Russia will be able to compete with their national symbols at the 2026 Senior World Championships in Hong Kong, China on 22-30 July. Since 2023, Belarusians and Russians had been participating in FIE-sanctioned tournaments under a neutral status.
Last month, international federations for gymnastics, modern pentathlon, boxing, volleyball, wrestling, equestrian sports, karate, dance sport, billiards, water skiing, Muay Thai, and archery also announced the full reinstatement of athletes from both countries.
