“An increase in the presence of harmful fauna and pests has been identified in various properties of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, a situation that directly affects the conservation of the estatethe functionality of the facilities and equipment, the file preservation and institutional documentation(as well as in) the health conditions for the users.”
Given this situation, the Judiciary launched the national tender OAJ/SEA/DGRM/LPN/015/2026 Fumigation and Pest Control Service for the properties of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, which it canceled upon recognizing that a new tender should be formulated with a differentiated approach by region and based on the various types of pests that are predominant.
“This general direction considers that the pest control in the properties of the Judicial Branch of the Federation “It must be addressed through a comprehensive, technical and differentiated approach, which includes both the application of specific inputs and the implementation of preventive maintenance measures,” he warned.
He clarified that “derived from the actions carried out at the national level and the identification of an increase in the presence of harmful fauna and pests in various properties of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, and considering the climatological and environmental conditions of the countrydetermines that the problem must be addressed through a differentiated approach by region, depending on the various types of predominant pests.”
The General Directorate of Real Estate and Maintenance details that after technical studies carried out throughout the country, it was found that in the Northern Regionwhich includes Sonora, Chihuahua and Coahuilawhere dry and semi-arid climates are recorded, predominate rodent pests, crawling insects and termites.
In the Central Regionwhich includes Mexico City, State of MexicoPuebla, Querétaro and Guanajuato, and where a temperate climate is recorded, cockroaches, rodents and vectors associated with green areas will predominate.
While in the South-Southeast and Gulf Regionwhich includes the states of Veracruz, TabascoChiapas and Oaxacain which a humid climate predominates, persist mosquito pestscockroaches, moisture fungusin addition to termites. In this sense, the General Directorate of Real Estate and Maintenance recognized that it is not technically feasible to establish a single product for fumigation, which is why it recommended implementing comprehensive pest management through the combined use of inputs for the interior of buildings, in green areas and in structural elements, but taking into account the various types of pests that exist in each region.
“It was determined that attention to this problem must be addressed through a differentiated approach by region based on the predominant types of pests,” he reported.
In this sense, it is recommended that low-toxicity insecticidal gel, insect growth regulators and rodenticides should be placed inside the buildings in control stations, and in green areas larvicides should be placed to control mosquitoes, insecticides, granulated baits for ants and soil treatments to control termites.
While in structural elements they will have to be put termiticides for chemical barriers, bait systems for underground control and fungicides in areas with the presence of humidity.
On page seven of the document it highlights that it is essential that the fumigation services They must be carried out in strict accordance with current regulations and follow what is dictated by the standards NOM-256-SSA1-2012, NOM-232-SSA1-2009, NOM-017-STPS-2008, NOM-018-STPS-2015 and NOM-052-SEMARNAT-2005-
Additionally, it is indicated that service providers must have current health licensetrained personnel, safety data sheets and application logs.
