The construction project of the new Clinical Hospital Center in Osijek, worth as much as 850 million euros, was at the center of the celebration of the Osijek-Baranja County Day. This is one of the most important infrastructural interventions in Croatian healthcare, which will significantly improve medical care in eastern Croatia.
According to the presented plans, the new KBC will cover about 215,000 square meters and will be among the largest hospital complexes in this part of Europe. The project includes the construction of a modern hospital that will replace the existing pavilion system and enable a higher level of health services.
It will be the most modern hospital in Croatia, but also in this part of Europe.
Mayor Nataša Tramišak pointed out that this is a historic project for the entire region of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, stressing that the new KBC will provide better and more accessible health care in the long term. She also reminded of the investments through the “Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem” project, as part of which, in the last decade, around five billion euros were invested in the five Slavonic counties, of which the Osijek-Baranja County withdrew 1.55 billion euros.
Prime Minister Plenković said that multi-year financing for this capital project had been secured and emphasized the positive trend in the region, including employment growth and the return of young people. He emphasized that the construction of the new KBC will mark generations to come.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić said that the new KBC will be the largest project in eastern Croatia and will play a key role in health care in the area east of Zagreb.
