Children’s Day: ten films to bring parents and children together in front of the screen | Relations

In connection with Children’s Day, we made a small selection of works perfect for celebrating togetherness, revisiting childhood or reflecting on what truly matters. Because, sometimes, the magic of cinema is not on the screen, but in the way it brings us closer to others.

Once upon a time, Alysia, Danaël, Jadina, Gryf, Shimy and Razzia were known as “The Legendaries”, a group of courageous warriors. But, during a battle against the dangerous sorcerer Darkhell, they broke Jovénia’s stone and unleashed a curse that transformed all the inhabitants of Alysia into eternal ten-year-old children. Discredited, they were forced into hiding.

When Darkhell returns to control every living being on the planet, the ancient heroes come together again on a mission to defeat him and put an end to the spell, allowing everyone to regain their true age. Along the way, they will have to rediscover their powers and strengthen the bonds that unite them.

Directed by Guillaume Ivernel, this animated adventure recovers the classic ingredients of the genre: courage, friendship and the fight against evil. The film adapts the comic books written by Frenchman Patrick Sobral to the big screen and later transformed into an animated series. See cinemas and schedules

Hans, a very malicious badger, carries out a Machiavellian plan: to disembark all the human passengers from a high-speed train and leave only with the animals that are there. But, fortunately for his victims, among them is Falcon, an intelligent and fearless raccoon.

To save the situation, he will have to find a way to get to the locomotive in front and manually apply the brakes. In this difficult mission, you will have the help of a team of new friends, capable of the greatest feats and acts of courage. See cinemas and schedules

Vincent, a young girl humpback whaleis still mourning the loss of his father, whose voice had the power to protect the seas and their inhabitants. Insecure and unable to sing, the teenager is forced to face his fears even more when he realizes that Leviathan, a huge and dangerous creature that Vincent’s father had defeated many years before, breaks free after the melting of an iceberg and threatens all marine life.

Alongside a small group of faithful companions, Vincent heads towards the depths of the ocean in search of the melody capable of saving them and restoring their lost balance. See cinemas and schedules

In the Highlands of Africathe lion Mufasa reigns with wisdom and generosity, earning the respect of his people. Simba, your son, will grow up and, in time, take his place, respecting the balance between all forms of life.

Everything seems peaceful except for Scar, Mufasa’s resentful brother, who has always aspired to ascend the throne. In his obsession to become king, Scar will stop at nothing to eliminate Mufasa and her offspring to achieve his goals.

After the worldwide success of Lion Kingwinner of two Oscars in 1995, Walt Disney Pictures and Fairview Entertainment use cutting-edge technology to recreate the same story in version live-action. The fearless Simba returns to the big screen, who, with great courage and dignity, regained his father’s throne with the precious help of Timon and Pumbaa, his two great friends.

Written by Jeff Nathanson and directed by Jon Favreau, the original version of this film features the voices of Donald Glover (Simba), Beyoncé Knowles-Carter (Nala), Billy Eichner (Timon), Seth Rogen (Pumba), Florence Kasumba (Shenzi), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar). Since he has known himself as people, 12-year-old Miguel has dreamed of becoming a famous guitarist, just like Ernesto de la Cruz, his biggest idol. Despite all his dedication and undeniable talent, his family disapproves of his aspirations and tries in every way to make him abandon music.

Until, in the midst of so much insistence on proving to everyone that he can get wherever he wants, Miguel ends up evoking an enchantment that takes him to the strange World of the Dead. There, he meets many of his ancestors, some who have been dead for over a century, who reveal a mystery related to their family history.

Created by Disney Pixar studios, a computer animated adventure, directed and written in 2017 by Lee Unkrich (Monsters and Company, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 2 and 3), in partnership with Adrian Molina, who makes his directorial debut here. Coconut won two Oscars: best animated film and best original song for Remember mewritten by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

The film is inspired by the traditional Day of the Dead festival. When Riley’s father changes jobs, the whole family is forced to leave the small town where they have always lived in Minnesota (USA) to move to San Francisco. For a young woman about to enter adolescence, this change couldn’t come at a worse time. Despite this, she knows she has to get used to this new circumstance and not let herself be blinded by her feelings.

Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness are the five emotions that live in the headquarters of her brain, where Joy — the captain — tries to balance moods and, simultaneously, ensure that Riley’s life never stops being happy. But when Joy and Sadness accidentally get lost inside the girl’s brain, her life is turned upside down. Without Joy in command, Fear, Anger and Repulsion take control of your life.
