“Even my son would have died” – Vilonat Braçellari killed one officer and wounded another, his mother says: The police shot first, they didn’t even tell him to surrender

The mother of Violand Braçellari, who is accused of killing police officer Enea Mekolli and wounding another officer, Edison Adri, has spoken for the first time after the serious event of June 4 in Lozhan i Maliqi.

In a statement to the media, she narrated her version of what happened on the morning of the event, claiming that everything started after the police intervened in the premises where her son was.

According to her, the incident happened in a stable where she and her son were at work at the time of the police intervention. “The police came, I told him: ‘Boy, they came’. The boy jumped from the window of the villa, the police was there”, she said, claiming that there was no warning from the officers.

Question – “You say your son didn’t shoot first at the police?”

“The police hit them first, then my son shot. The police didn’t even say surrender, nor were they the police. Violandi was hiding in the corner and went upstairs”

Question – “How long had Violand been staying with you?”

“Violandi didn’t live with me, he was convicted for 10 years. He didn’t stay here with me, he just came sometimes to eat bread. He lived in the mountains, only in the mountains. He never went to the village or the city. This situation has been like this for 8 years. For 10 grams of hashish, two grams were found at home, then they took 10 grams”

Q – Has your son ever grown weed here?

“Never, in Vlora we worked in construction, they got lek, we made 30 purebred goats and brought them here to Lozhan”

Question – Is it true that the state helped them with funds?

“We got it. Not that it helped me, but there are state rules here that I own livestock. No, says Artan Hoxha, Hashashi seed, etc., look at the house. What haven’t we heard.”

Question – How do you feel as a mother, a police officer passed away

“I’m very sorry, my son had also died. It’s not my son’s fault, nor the policeman’s fault. The policeman was ordered. If he did this, he would say, ‘Stop.’ This would not be the case. “

Question – Were there times when the police and Renea came before to arrest Violand?

“Several times. They didn’t do what these guys did. Not that it was many times, I had one occasion.”

Question – What message do you have for the family of the fallen policeman?

“I’m very sorry, it’s like my son died. I’m sorry for him, I don’t even know him, neither the mother, nor the father, nor the son. I’m very sorry. I’m with them. That boy hurts too. I don’t know him and he doesn’t know me. His duty.”

Question – Will you meet Violand?

“I will meet him because I have a son. It hurts. I have been with him all these years”

Question – How is it possible that he was carrying a weapon, did you know? Are their lives endangered only by the police or by others?

“I didn’t know he had a gun. I had never seen him with a gun. There is no son who tells his mother he has a gun”

Question – Have you ever tried to convince him to give up?

“Many times. He was just angry, he said that I should be punished for 10 years for two grams of hashish, I don’t violate the police. The hashish was not found in my house or in my car, but in an abandoned apartment.”

Question – There have been rumors that Violandi escaped these years because he cooperated with the police.

“What do you say? They had an eye on him. An eye on him, every checkpoint, from all four sides, wherever the boy went out, the cars would check what he had with him.”

Question – The day before the event, did your shepherd leave work?

“He left because we made him talk that he would receive 1 million lek salary if he stayed for more than a year

He stayed for 10 days and demanded 33 thousand lek a day. You have that much money – I told him. It was very misleading.”

Question – You believe that Violandi has no connection with narcotics? Talk to the shepherd, there was cooperation

“What they don’t say. There is no question of him notifying the police, he spent 10 days. When did it become a narcotic substance, when was it sold for 10 days?”
