The Police Day is celebrated today with a special commemorative day coinciding with the 95th anniversary of the body’s creationfounded in 1931. The events began this morning with the mass in honor of the patron saint Maria Auxiliadora in the church of Sant Esteve in Andorra la Vella and have continued with the solemn act of honor to the flag and the presentation of arms in Plaça del Poble.
The ceremony brought together the Andorra’s main authorities and representatives of all the police services. The Head of Government, Xavier Espotthe Minister of Justice and Interior, Ester Molnéand the director of the police, Bruno Lasnehave reviewed the troops deployed before the start of the protocol act.

The parade had the participation of the different specialized groups of the bodyincluding the dog group, the motorized traffic group, the air and ground units and the first intervention and order maintenance group. During the ceremony was also carried out the height of the national flagone of the most solemn moments of the celebration, in which the public service, the vocation and the commitment of the agents to public safety have been highlighted.
The flag of Andorra took a helicopter ride through principality. Two officers of the security force have worn the national badge since the air in Plaça del Poblescene of the actions of the patron of the police.

The event also included the performance of the police anthemcomposed in 1994, as well as the parade and subsequent removal of the flagin a ceremony marked by symbolism and recognition of almost a century of the body’s trajectory.
The commemoration continues now at the Auditorium of the Congress Center of Andorra la Vella with the tribute to retired membersthe delivery of badges, decorations and several institutional recognitions.

They were subsequently delivered decorations for dedication to police service to officers who complete 20, 30, 35 and 40 years of professional career.
