CINS journalist Nina Čolić rated it as N1 that there are still many unanswered questions in the investigation of Nešović’s murder, especially regarding the ten minutes that could be crucial for determining whether there was a meeting between Veselin Milić and the murdered man. She also pointed out the contradictions in the publicly available statements, as well as the doubts caused by the statements of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office and the defense.
It is questionable what everything is coming from the Prosecutor’s Office, says our interlocutor, considering that in the first announcements of that institution it was stated that the defendants in the “Senjak” case did not present a defense, which, judging by the investigations of Radar journalists, turned out to be incorrect, because the defendants did present a defense.
“I like to say: ‘Let the institutions do their job’, however, when we have cases – I will remind you of only one older one, among others, the ‘Helicopter’ case – it seems to me that the existence of doubt as to what exactly is behind the closed doors of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office is justified. This is definitely one of the cases in which they somehow opened up and communicated more information, i.e. the announcements are more frequent, only their content is questionable when we take into account everything that is in the media and what the media come to,” he points out.
He also states that, after the statement published by the lawyer of the former Belgrade police chief Veselin Milić, in which parts of Milić’s testimony were presented, we can ask what kind of message it sends us.
It is questionable, he says, whether the media influence the course of the investigation, as the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office stated on several occasions, given that this is about someone who is a defendant in the proceedings, as opposed to the media that work in the interest of the public.
He also emphasizes that the announcements of VJT, as well as the announcement of Milić’s lawyer, are not the most clear to the public.
CINS published the testimony of the godfather of the murdered Nešović, in which he narrates how the godfather said that he received a message from Veselin Milić and that is how the communication started. On the other hand, he says, from Milić’s testimony we have different things – that Nešović called him first.
“And as much as the statements completely match in some parts, at least in what we’ve had the opportunity to read, and they match in most parts, the key points about who contacted whom remain unclear,” he explains.
As Radar also stated, he says, those ten minutes that are mentioned are crucial – the difference between the moment when Nešović left his house and 11:15 p.m., when Milić allegedly arrived at his building.
“It seems to me that in the end the whole story will revolve around whether there is a possibility that they had the opportunity to meet at least in a minute, if nothing else because Veselin Milić never denies that he was in the bar that evening. The question is why we don’t have specific information about the people who were with him in the bar, before, according to his story, Saša Vuković and his entourage came, saw and what they witnessed,” he adds.
He also points out that it is surprising that more than 20 days after the murder, members of the JZO who provided security for the suspect in Bosket’s murder are being interrogated.
