Bern (Switzerland), June 4, 2026 (SPS) – Two documentaries depicting the situation of Sahrawi activists in the occupied territories of Western Sahara were screened at the Abolish Festival, organized by the DIA Kollektiv Group, based in Bern, the Swiss capital.
As part of this political and cultural festival, two documentaries—Three Stolen Cameras and a Memory that Refuses to Surrender—were presented. The films highlighted the suffering endured by Sahrawi journalists and activists imprisoned in Moroccan prisons, as well as the hardships faced by their families.
The festival featured the participation of Mohamed Mayara, Coordinator of the Equipe Media information platform, and Saeed M’hamed Saeed, Representative of the Polisario Front in the German-speaking region of Switzerland.
Mohamed Mayara spoke about the two documentaries and the suffering of Sahrawi journalists, prisoners, and their families. He strongly criticized the international community for its “silence regarding the crimes committed daily and systematically against the Sahrawi people and against the activists leading the resistance to the occupation.”
Following the screenings, a question-and-answer session was held with the audience, which demonstrated considerable interest in the issues raised by the documentaries.
