He Government of Israel announced the sending of medical brigades and agricultural specialists to Honduras during the first weeks of July, as part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between both countries in strategic areas for national development.
The announcement was confirmed after a meeting held at the Presidential House between the director of the Israel International Development Cooperation Agency (MASHAV), Eynat Shlein, and the Israeli ambassador to Honduras, Nadav D. Goren, together with President Nasry Asfura.
The Israeli authorities reaffirmed their commitment to expanding technical assistance programs in sectors such as health, agriculture, innovation and professional training, highlighting that these actions respond to requests made by the Honduran Government.
“We are working on health, agriculture, innovation and other important areas. We greatly value this friendship and we are acting quickly to help this friendly government achieve its objectives,” said MASHAV director Eynat Shlein.
For his part, Ambassador Nadav D. Goren highlighted that the relationship between both nations has been strengthened and that Israel maintains a permanent willingness to cooperate with Honduras in development projects promoted by the Executive.
In addition to the sending of brigades in July, the cooperation includes a new technical assistance day scheduled for October, as well as training programs in Israel for Honduran professionals and the arrival of Israeli experts to the country.
The Israeli mission also reported that part of the joint work includes the exchange of specialists and training in technical areas, such as the recent Workshop on Incidents with Multiple Victims (IMV), developed with personnel from the Secretariat of Risk Management and National Contingencies (Copeco).
During the official visit, the Israeli delegation will hold meetings with different ministries of State, and this Tuesday the signing of a new cooperation agreement is expected that will expand the joint programs between both nations.
The authorities stressed that cooperation not only covers health and agriculture, but also innovation, emergency management and security, with the aim of strengthening the institutional capacities of Honduras.
