Vienna, June 1 (SANA) Syria is participating in the 35th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and exchange expertise in justice-related fields.
The Syrian delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Justice Mustafa al-Qassem, is focusing on criminal justice and transitional justice issues and will present national initiatives and measures undertaken during Syria’s post-liberation phase.
The commission, which is meeting in Vienna from June 1 to 5, serves as the United Nations’ principal policymaking body on crime prevention and criminal justice. The session brings together member states to discuss international cooperation, crime prevention policies and legal issues.
