Yesterday, Reykjavík High School graduated 195 students at a ceremony in Háskólbíó. 35 from law departments, 36 from physics departments and 124 from natural sciences departments.
The work of the school during the past school year was reviewed. There were performances by the drama groups Herranætur and Frúardags, numerous social events organized by the student associations Skolafélagin and Framtíðinin, as well as the participation of students in numerous science and language competitions.
Good results in MORFÍs and Get better
MR’s team won the MORFÍs speech and debate competition this spring, and the school came in second place in the Get Better quiz competition.
The school’s students also achieved excellent results in national competitions in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology and secured participation in international competitions on behalf of Iceland. The students also won awards in short story competitions in English, German and French.
This winter, the school took part in a business workshop in collaboration with Young Entrepreneurs for the first time.
180 years old school in October
The year 2026 also marks a turning point in the school’s history, but on October 1st Reykjavík High School will be 180 years old. For that reason, among other things, the fifth volume of the Reykjavík School History will be published.
Hugrún Eva Haraldsdóttir became Dux scholae with a final grade of 9.81. Semidux is María Líf Ágústsdóttir from 6.R with a grade of 9.79.
A total of 23 students graduated with distinction.
