The forensic examination performed on the 39-year-old who was murdered yesterday by her 41-year-old husband in their home in Kalamata.

According to local media, the finding speaks of at least 40 stab wounds, which were achieved with quick and successive blows. The victim is believed to have received most of the blows while lying on the floor. According to the same sources, many of them were in the left lung, head, chest and back.

The 41-year-old self-confessed murderer was arraigned at noon on Tuesday before the Kalamata prosecutor and was given a deadline to apologize on Thursday.

    The chronicle

According to information, shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday, neighbors of the couple called the police reporting that a woman’s voice could be heard asking for help from the apartment on the second floor of the apartment building.

The neighbors also knocked on the outer door of the house, but did not receive an answer.

Within five minutes, police forces arrived at the scene. When the police knocked on the apartment door, the husband opened it for them, who brought scattered bloodstains on his clothes.

During the investigation that followed, the police found the 39-year-old deceased. She suffered multiple stab wounds to her head and bodywhile a knife was found in her left hand.

The 41-year-old’s first words – according to information – were that his wife had injured herself. Then, however, he confessed his deed, admitting that he himself murdered her.

He allegedly told the police officers:I woke up to see her overhead holding a knife. We fought, I managed to grab her knife and killed her.”

The two minor children of the family were found in the next room from where the murder took place, aged 10 and 6, which were transferred to the Pediatric Clinic of the Kalamata Hospital.

Toxicology tests on the couple’s children as well

According to ERT, during the police investigation in the apartment where the couple lived packages and blisters of anxiolytic/sedative medications were locatedwhich have been collected and are being examined in the context of the preliminary investigation. At the same time, the competent authorities have reportedly requested toxicological tests to both minor children of the couple. This request is related to the fact that the children, who were inside the apartment at the time of the murder, they were fast asleep and did not notice the intense altercation that preceded the murder.

In fact, according to information, about a week before the tragic incident, a resident of the area had contacted the authorities expressing concern about the loud voices he was hearing in the neighborhood. However, the call was not accompanied by a specific reference to the point of origin of the voices and it was not possible to connect it to the specific apartment.
