Five times more data for the same price
While the prices of everything else are rising, Tusass is now going the opposite way with a historic price reduction on their mobile subscriptions. The telecom giant quintuples the amount of data in their most popular subscription and at the same time lowers the maximum price for a mobile subscription from DKK 699 to DKK 499
At a time when increased living costs are putting pressure on many, Tusass chooses to go against the grain and significantly cut the prices of their mobile subscriptions. With the launch of completely new subscriptions, the telecommunications company is entering a new era, where prices are adjusted according to modern standards and where the customer gets significantly more value for money. The most significant change is that the ceiling for what a private mobile subscription can cost is lowered from DKK 699 to DKK 499.

Rooted in Greenland for 100 years
Tusass is owned by the Greenlandic community, and with over 100 years of history, the telecommunications company is deeply rooted in the country. The decision to lower prices stems precisely from this close connection to citizens and a desire to give back to society at a time when the general cost of living is rising noticeably.
“As a company that is owned by the community and has existed for 100 years, we are deeply rooted in Greenland. We are very aware that we live in a time when the cost of living is rising and putting pressure on many households – both at home and in the rest of the world,” says Jonas Hasselriis, CEO of Tusass and continues:

“Precisely because we are Greenland’s own telecommunications company, it is in our DNA to take responsibility and counteract the tendency for everything to constantly become more expensive. With this price reduction, we are giving citizens a noticeable financial helping hand in their everyday lives.
Five times more data for the same money
The new price structure is not just an adjustment, but a thorough upgrade of the products. The previous top product for DKK 699 is being phased out completely, and instead the current most popular subscription – 20 GB for DKK 499 – will be the new standard for top performance.
That package is increased to a full 100 GB without the price changing. This means that customers in practice get five times as much data for the same money.

“We are taking our most popular product and making it five times stronger. By offering 100 gigabytes for the same price as before for 20 GB, we ensure that Greenlandic consumers get access to data in an amount that matches modern requirements for both streaming, work and education,” says Runo Fencker-Noahsen, Product Manager at Tusass.
The youngest users are also included in the new catalogue. The largest children’s subscription gets a boost of 7 GB, so that going forward you get 10 GB of data for the same DKK 149.
The fruit of massive investment
The fact that Tusass can now present such extensive improvements is the result of a year-long strategy with a focus on future-proofing the country’s digital foundation.
“This historic initiative has been made possible by many years of targeted investments in our infrastructure. We have worked intensively to strengthen the stability and robustness of our network, among other things through work with the new redundant submarine cable, a major upgrade of our mobile capacity in large parts of the country, and an ongoing upgrade to 5G”, says Jonas Hasselriis, CEO of Tusass and continues:
“We have now reached a point where we are seeing the financial and technical results of these investments, and we believe it is only fair that those benefits accrue to our customers immediately.
The new subscriptions are being rolled out throughout the country and will be available everywhere, regardless of whether you live in a big city or in a smaller place of residence. However, not everyone gets access to 5G, as it requires local 5G coverage. But all the basic data packages and prices are the same for all users.

Security and more news on the way
In addition to the new prices and more data, Tusass continues its work to increase the security of Greenlandic users, which is important at a time when cyber threats are increasing worldwide.
The launch date for the new subscriptions is May 4. Tusass ensures that the transition is as simple as possible for customers, as many will be automatically migrated to the new, better terms. But the news does not stop here.
“This is only the beginning of a series of improvements to our products. We are not done optimizing our offer to our customers, and later this year we expect to be able to unveil improvements to our internet subscriptions,” concludes Runo Fencker-Noahsen.
