Within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, on April 17, a bilateral meeting of the presidents of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan was held in Istanbul.
How? “Armenpress”learns from the message issued by the RA National Assembly, during the meeting, the latest processes within the framework of the regulation of relations between the two countries were recorded with satisfaction, including the steps aimed at strengthening peace and stability, as well as the establishment and expansion of trade ties.
The role of the Inter-Parliamentary Union as an important platform for inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized. In this context, the parties highly appreciated and expressed gratitude to the General Secretary of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chungong, for his personal efforts in the direction of forming a dialogue between the presidents of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The presidents of the parliaments positively evaluated the contacts between the parliamentary delegations within the framework of international organizations, which started after their meeting held in Geneva in October 2025, and agreed to continue those contacts.
The presidents of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan emphasized the importance of continuing the constructive parliamentary dialogue in order to further strengthen the trust between the two societies.
