THE SP PNG Hunters’ clash with the Ipswich Jets at the Santos National Football Stadium on Saturday will mark the SP Lager Anti-Violence Round, senior brand manager Kitione Amet announced yesterday.
Welcoming Hunters head coach Paul Aiton as one of the campaign’s ambassadors, Amet said the round reflects the brewer’s commitment to using its sponsorship to raise awareness about domestic violence.
“The purpose of the round is to keep the national conversation around domestic violence visible through sport, community engagement, and high-reach brand platforms,” Amet explained.
He said rugby league’s unique ability to unite families and communities, making the Hunters partnership an ideal platform for driving awareness and positive dialogue.
The Hunters will wear a special anti-violence jersey carrying campaign messages, transforming the team strip into a visible awareness tool across live match attendance, media coverage, broadcast audiences and digital platforms.
Amet described the initiative as responsible sponsorship in action, reinforcing respect, safety and stronger communities.
He said Aiton’s involvement brings credibility and leadership to the campaign, ensuring the message resonates through a respected sporting figure.
Fans are encouraged to attend Saturday’s game at the National Football Stadium to cheer on the Hunters while standing together against domestic violence.
