The ceasefire agreed between the governments of Israel and of Lebanon previously announced by the American president, donald trumpofficially came into effect at 5:00 p.m. Washington time (9:00 p.m. GMT).
Minutes before the time came, the Israel Defense Forces said they were bombing rocket launchers from the Shiite group Hezbollah in Lebanon and reported attacking more than 380 militia targets in the last 24 hours.
The Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) reported at least three dead and 21 wounded by Israeli attacks in the south of the country.
Hezbollah also launched several attacks against northern Israel before the ceasefire came into force, which triggered alarms and even hit some points.
The Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported at least three injuries from these attacks, two of them in serious condition, according to local media.
Trump announced this Thursday that Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ten-day ceasefire to achieve peace, after holding “excellent” phone calls with the leaders of both nations.
The tension between Israel and Lebanon threatened to shake the fragile two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which will end on April 22 while peace talks are expected to resume in Pakistan.
The figure of dead in Lebanon due to the Israeli attacks in the last six weeks it has now risen to 2,196, including 172 children, and the number of wounded has risen to 7,185, of which 661 are also minors, according to figures released today by the Emergency Operations center, belonging to the Ministry of Public Health.
