Police in San Ignacio are investigating a fatal crash in the Kontiki area that claimed the life of thirty-year-old Geromey Chuc, a security guard from Benque Viejo Town. Officers were called to the George Price Highway on Friday, where they found Chuc’s body alongside a badly damaged motorcycle off the roadway. His death would be the first in a series of fatal traffic incidents that unfolded over the weekend.

“On Friday May fifth June at around six forty-five AM, police in Contiki were advised that the body of a male person and an extensively damaged motorcycle were observed off road in the vicinity of mile seventy-two on the George Price Highway. The officers responded where they were able to confirm this report and subsequently learned the identity of the deceased male person to be thirty-year-old Jerome Chuc, a Belizean security guard of Benque Viejo Town. The scene was processed as a part of the ongoing investigation into this incident.”
Police believe that Chuc lost control of his motorcycle and veered off the road, leading to his fatal injuries.
