With the approach of July, salary increase rates, which will directly affect the budgets of millions of civil servants and retirees, have become a public agenda item.
In order to determine the net increase in salaries, the June inflation figures to be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) are awaited. SSI expert Özgür Erdursun, who knows the pension increase with the predictions he made in previous periods, also made evaluations on the subject and gave a figure for the July 2026 increase.
5-MONTH TABLE HAS BEEN CLEAR
SSI Specialist Özgür Erdursun, who discussed the agenda and salary expectations on his personal YouTube channel, stated that the increase will not protect the purchasing power of retirees.
Reminding that the 5-month inflation announced by TÜİK is 16.60 percent, Erdursun said that according to the current table, the inflation difference for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees is 16.60 percent, and for retired civil servants and civil servants it is 12.40 percent.

INFLATION EXPECTATION AND SALARY INCREASE RATE IN JUNE
Stating that June data will clarify the raise rate, Erdursun gave an 18 percent raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.
Estimating that the raise rate for civil servants and retired civil servants will be 14 percent, Erdursun conveyed his mathematical predictions for June with the following words:
“Inflation of 1.7 percent was announced in May. We expect an even lower inflation rate of 1.3 percent to 1.5 percent in June.
In light of these possibilities, we predict that 6-month inflation will be between 18.1 percent and 18.3 percent, that is, less than 18 percent. It’s like 13.85 percent for civil servants and civil servants. So we can say that it is 14 percent.” he said.
WHAT WILL BE THE LOWEST RETIREMENT SALARY?
Erdursun also made a prediction for the lowest pension and drew attention to the risk that millions of people may face due to the root salary problem.
Erdursun stated that retirees who receive the lowest monthly salary may face the risk of zero raise if the welfare share or base salary adjustment is not made, and summarized the situation as follows:
“The lowest pension, which is currently 20,000 TL, is expected to increase to approximately 23,620 TL. The lowest pensions do not automatically increase at the announced inflation rate. If the lowest completed pension is not increased by a legal regulation, these salaries will continue to remain at 20,000 TL.” he said.
