The Criminal Court Judge with National Jurisdiction issued formal indictment order and ordered the measure of preventive detention against Carlos Alexis Molina Mencías and Williams Noé Reyes Izaguirre.
Both are identified by the Public Ministry as alleged co-authors of the crimes of murder, attempted murder completed and criminal association.
According to the judicial resolution, the defendants had participated in events that left 19 fatalities, in addition to affecting a protected witness and the fundamental interests of Honduran society. While the criminal proceedings against them continue, the accused will remain detained.
During the hearing, the Public Ministry maintained its accusation and presented various elements of documentary and expert evidence.
Among the evidence exposed, the analyzes carried out on cell phones stood out, including data extraction and the examination of communication records contained in the devices.
After analyzing the elements presented, as well as the current legal framework, the guarantees of due process and the existing evidence in the case, the Criminal Court Judge decided to maintain the measure of preventive detention against the accused.
The decision seeks to guarantee that the accused appear in the next stages of the judicial process, so they must remain in custody at the National Penitentiary Center of Tamarain the department of Francisco Morazán, while the development of the case continues.
