Shaheed El Hafed, June 8, 2026 (SPS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, met today, Monday, with the Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Western Sahara, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, who is currently on a visit to the Sahrawi side.
The meeting was attended by the Polisario Front’s representative to the United Nations, Coordinator with the MINURSO Mission, National Secretariat Member, Dr. Sidi Mohamed Omar, as well as Mohamed Mouloud Mohamed, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
In a statement to the media, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs indicated that he discussed with Mr. de Mistura the efforts of the United Nations to find a just, fair, and transparent solution that guarantees the Sahrawi people their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
