A Layou man charged for attempted murder, was granted bail in the sum of $15,000.
Brenford Millington, who is accused of attempting to murder another man by chopping him with a cutlass, appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Colin John, on June 8, 2026 where he was charged that on October 3, 2024 at Layou with intent to commit the offence of murder on Harnif Welcome of Layou, did an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence.
Millington is alleged to have used a cutlass to chop Welcome about his body.
The matter was laid indictably so Millington was not required to plea. He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 with one surety.
Millington is to report to the Layou Police Station every Wednesday between 8:00 a.m and 8:00 p.m. The court also ordered that he has no contact with Welcome.
Millington was also ordered to surrender all travel documents, and instructions were given that stop notices be placed at all points of entry and exit. The matter was adjourned to July 16, 2026.
