Hillman Worldwide Logistics and Indo Group announced the laying of the foundation stone for a new logistics center for auto spare parts in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), enhancing the free zone’s role as a major gateway for regional and global trade.
The new facility will support faster and more efficient distribution of spare parts in the GCC, Africa and other global markets, as demand for more flexible supply chains for the automotive sector continues to grow.
The new facility extends over a total area of approximately 300,000 square feet, providing a flexible and expandable infrastructure that supports the distribution of large quantities with high efficiency. The facility is being developed by Indo Logistics, a subsidiary of Indo Group, to be a specialized center for the automotive sector within the Hellman network in the Middle East.
Lee Iones, Regional CEO, India, Middle East and Africa, Hillman Worldwide Logistics, said: “The UAE represents a strategically important market within our global network. By establishing this dedicated automotive hub in Jafza, we continue to systematically expand our regional capabilities, creating additional scalable infrastructure designed to serve this sector. This allows us to provide competitive, high-performance logistics solutions to our customers, and support the long-term development of their businesses.”
Abdullah Al Hashimi, CEO of Global Operations, DP World Group, said: “Hillman’s investment reflects the evolution of supply chains, at a time when customers are looking for faster and more reliable access to critical spare parts across multiple markets. By continuing to develop specialized infrastructure at Jafza, we are supporting our partners in dealing with the current disruptions, and maintaining the continuity of their operations.”
This project reflects the growing demand for specialized logistics infrastructure for the automotive sector, in light of the increasing complexities across supply chains and their sensitivity to the time factor. Jafza continues to play a pivotal role in enabling the efficient flow of trade traffic between Europe, Asia and Africa, through its integrated infrastructure and multi-mode connectivity capabilities.
It is worth noting that Jafza embraces a growing system of companies operating in the automotive, logistics and trade sectors, supported by direct access to Jebel Ali Port and multi-modal connectivity. This new facility contributes to consolidating Jafza’s position as a center for specialized, high-value supply chains.
