Beirut, June 7 (SANA) The Israeli occupation forces on Sunday issued an evacuation warning for residents of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre and surrounding areas, instructing them to move north of the Zahrani River as Israeli airstrikes continued across parts of Lebanon.
The warning came amid an escalation in Israeli attacks targeting southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs, with Lebanese media reporting multiple casualties and injuries.
Israeli warplanes launched a series of overnight and early-morning strikes on the towns of Srifa, Deir Kifa and Qallawiya in southern Lebanon, while intermittent artillery shelling targeted the town of Burj Qallawiya.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that three members of the same family were killed in an Israeli strike on the town of Jouaiyya.
The agency also said an Israeli drone strike on the town of Shahabiya wounded two people, who were transferred to Hiram Hospital for treatment.
Separately, a young man was seriously injured in a landmine explosion near the Lebanese-Syrian border close to the town of Abboudieh in Akkar province. Emergency teams provided first aid at the scene before transferring him to hospital.
Earlier on Sunday, seven people were reported killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting several towns and villages across southern Lebanon.
Israel has continued carrying out strikes in Lebanon despite a U.S.-mediated ceasefire that took effect on April 17, 2026, with repeated attacks reported in southern parts of the country.
