A new great success for the Macedonian taekwondo player at the international tournaments, Mila Reljic managed to win bronze at the European Cup in Nuremberg, Germany.
In the first round, Reljic defeated Natalie Tadic from Croatia with 2:0 in the rounds, and in the second round she was more successful than Ingibjord Gretaštoðir from Iceland.
In the semi-final fight, Reljic met the Olympic champion from Paris, Viviana Marton from Hungary, from whom she lost 2:0 in the rounds. Although Reljic had three tough fights in half an hour, he still held his own with the best in the world.
In the fight for a medal after an exhausting fight with Olympian Chaima Toumi from Tunisia, our competitor in the last second managed to force the fifth technical error and thus won the bronze medal with a 2:1 in the rounds.
This is a new 14.4 points that will be added to the new ranking list that starts on July 1 for points for Los Angeles 2028 and Reljic’s points will return to her Olympic category -57 with which she made an outstanding result in Paris 2024 at the Olympic Games.
Namely, on Friday, Reljic also fought at the Grand Prix G-6 rally in Rome, Italy, in -67 kg, which is too high a category for her, and in the first round she lost to the Olympic vice-champion Aleksandra Perišić from Serbia with 2:0 in the rounds, even though there she won 6.5 points, they will not be considered as her Olympic category.
