The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) reported that this Wednesday morning there was a a fight in one of the pavilions from the El Pinito Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), in the province of La Vega, which caused injuries to four of the inmates.
According to a press release, the inmates Gregori Francisco Almonte, Alejandro Fernández Abad, Daniel Roque Juanes and Kelvin Polanco Gómez, They were injured during the incident and were taken to a hospital.
The incident, which occurred at 8:20 in the morning, is under investigation and was controlled by security personnel.
“As a preventive measure, the DGSCP personnel arranged the closing all modulesas well as the closure of cells in each of the pavilions, keeping all inmates in their corresponding areas to guarantee their safety and that of the surveillance personnel,” they reported in a press release.
