A 59-YEAR-OLD security officer told police he was abducted by two men on Saturday morning after their vehicle mirrors made contact while driving along a Santa Flora roadway.
The Guapo Road man told police yesterday that around 5.20 a.m. on Saturday, he was driving along Syncline Road towards Santa Flora when another vehicle driving in the opposite direction came onto his lane. The right mirrors of both vehicles, he said, came into contact.
The victim stopped his car and was getting out when he was approached by two men who began arguing with him. The men, police were told, ordered the victim into the back seat of his own vehicle while one sat in the driver’s seat.
They drove off against the victim’s will, police were told.
As they journeyed one of the suspects ‘locked’ the victim’s neck, causing him to lose consciousness. He told police he awoke along the roadway of Quinam Beach in Siparia, and saw his vehicle on the side of the road, damaged.
Siparia police visited the scene and checked for CCTV footage.
The vehicle was towed from the site while the victim was taken to the Siparia District Health facility and then transferred to the Point Fortin Hospital for treatment.
