An act of violence shook the town of Santa Ana this Thursday, April 30, when a man was shot to death inside a restaurant located in front of the Seafood Market, in one of the busiest areas of the city.
The victim was identified as a businessman known by the nickname Chirri, linked to the Imperio Plus business.
It was learned that the deceased was the owner of the well-known party chivas Imperio Rumba.
According to the first reports, the attacker arrived directly at the local Restaurante La Bendión and opened fire without saying a word.
Witnesses indicated that the attacker fired multiple shots, surprising the victim inside the establishment, without giving him the opportunity to react.
The injured man was rushed to the Santo Tomás Hospital, but died shortly after admission.
At the scene of the crime, Criminalistics units and the Public Ministry located at least seven bullet casingswhich shows the intensity of the attack.
The National Police cordoned off the area and closed the access to Central Avenue, causing heavy traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
After the incident, the management of the La Benddiciones restaurant reported “that the incident that occurred in the vicinity of our establishment is an event completely unrelated to our operations.”
The incident occurred in the middle of lunchtime, in an area surrounded by businesses, restaurants and residences, which caused alarm among those who witnessed the scene.
Commissioner Joel Hurtado informed Telemeter Report that the attacker acted alone and managed to escape on foot. They currently remain operational in nearby sectors, including the Centenario building area.
The authorities confirmed that they are already handling a line of investigation and that the security cameras will be key to identify the person responsible. In addition, they called on citizens to provide information confidentially.
