Trump said the war in Iran is over

Hello, dear ones. Today is May 3, Sunday. American President Donald Trump said that the war in Iran is over. The world imagines the end of wars differently: someone loses and raises the white flag, the other side agrees to all the terms and capitulates, or someone stronger from both sides comes and ends the war. But the war can end with this kind of confusion, just with a confession in a letter written to the parliament of a country. Below we will remember these and other events of the week together.

    Trump: “The war is over”

American President Trump said that the war in Iran is over. Mr. Trump did not make a solemn post about it on his page, nor did he gather journalists and tell them. He just said in his letter to Congress. Look at this, according to American law, the president of the country cannot go to war against a country for more than 60 days without the permission of Congress. Wow, as long as there are still laws to stop Trump, long live American law!

Before the expiration of this 60-day period, Trump sent a letter to Congress, reporting that military actions with Iran have already ended. Reuters journalists, who got acquainted with the letter, wrote about it.

Another thing is officially clear from the content of the letter: Trump, along with his friend Netanyahu, did not receive permission from the Congress, the legal representative of the American electorate, to start a war against Iran. The most interesting thing is that Mr. Trump admitted that the conflict is still not resolved, that “Iran is still a threat to America.”

This letter contains very serious things, pay attention to their content. Donald Trump started a war against Iran without asking the Congress, i.e. the Americans. At a time when it was not announced anywhere, the war between America and Iran ended. And even after the very intense bombings that started at the end of February, the conflict has not been resolved and Iran is still a threat to America! Where are the talks about the “annihilation of Iran” and the transfer of enriched uranium to America?

The purpose of the war was to change the regime in Iran, it is true that Khomeini is dead, but the country is ruled by a religious leader again and he is no longer a friend of America. Here, I will read to you his last sentence: “The place of the Americans in the Persian Gulf is at its very bottom.”

Iranians have a thousand years of strategic experience, no matter how powerful America is. They know their enemies very well, neither their law enforcement nor the intelligence of the Iranians works badly. If they have deliberately prolonged the negotiations until the end of this 60-day period, they have achieved their goal. Donald Trump is now in a very awkward position.

A conversation between Trump and Putin

During the week, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin communicated by phone. There was nothing serious to say. The parties mainly discussed the war in Iran. According to Trump, Putin asked to participate in the uranium enrichment process if he could convince Iran to hand over the uranium. And the American president recommended him to “preferably deal with the end of the war in Ukraine.” Then Trump offered his interlocutor to agree on a short-term truce in the war, and Putin offered a truce on the eve of May 9.

The British King is in America

During the week, British King Charles III paid an official visit to America. The British monarch’s visit to Washington coincided with a period of cooling of relations between the two countries. Donald Trump has a cold relationship with almost all European countries in his second term. First of all, the disagreement between the old continent and Trump was on the issue of the war in Ukraine, Trump said that he will not use Kiev, Ukraine allegedly “is a state under the influence of Russia.” Then he threatened to occupy the Danish island of Greenland. And he resented NATO countries for not helping in the war in Iran. Under Trump, relations between Europe and America have deteriorated so much that NATO is on the verge of collapse.

King Charles III went to America to soften the relationship between the two countries. He was warmly welcomed in Washington. At a White House banquet, the king made political jokes and gave Americans historical reminders.

    Israel is flattening Lebanon

The American publication CNN analyzed the satellite images provided by Airbus and concluded that Israel is using the same scenario in southern Lebanon as in Gaza. First, buildings will be destroyed by airstrikes, people will be forced to flee, and the rest will be done as part of a ground operation, leveling the area with the help of tanks and heavy artillery.

The same thing is happening in southern Lebanon. In America, Israel and Lebanon have announced a truce, but American-backed Israel continues to level southern Lebanon. It seems that the Lebanese government is not interested in the fact that the area is being leveled by Israel because these areas are under the influence of Hezbollah.

    Election in Gaza

Elections were held for the first time in 20 years in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, which scattered the ashes of Israel. Elections were held only in Deir al-Balah, Gaza City. In the election for the local council, 6 out of 15 seats were won by representatives of the FATH party led by Mahmoud Abbas. The remaining seats were won by independent candidates. Hamas boycotted the election and did not present its candidates.

Those who wanted to run in the elections had to recognize Palestinian national autonomy, including the state of Israel, and give up weapons. For this reason, Hamas representatives did not participate, because the movement has not yet laid down its weapons. In addition, Hamas does not recognize the state of Israel, believing that all its territories belong to Palestine. Although it did not present a candidate in the election, Hamas took part in the security and assessed the election as a good step.

Although FATH won the election, it is natural that it will not be able to establish control over Gaza, which is largely under the control of HAMAS and is likely to remain so in the future. Because Israel and the US still cannot force the group to lay down its arms. This ensures that the movement is still strong at the ball level.

    War in Mali

Russia’s affairs in Africa are also not good, as it has not been able to occupy the lands of its neighbor Ukraine for the fifth year. Russia is making a serious effort to increase its military influence in the countries of this continent, especially in the countries rich in gold and diamonds. Yevgeny Prigogine, the founder of “Wagner”, was the main figure at the center of this system. In order to increase military influence in countries rich in gold and diamonds in Africa, a volunteer military structure called “Africa Corps” was established under the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Representatives of this corps were also active in Mali. They were on the side of the government army. During the week, the most ardent supporter of Russia’s presence in Mali, the Minister of Defense Sadio Camara, was killed by the rebels.

The rebel groups “Azawad Liberation Front” and “Islam and Muslim Application Group” are participating in the war against the government forces. It is not necessary to say the name of this group, in short, they are the branch of “Al Qaeda” in Mali.

Rebels have pushed Russian-backed government forces out of the strategically important town of Kidal. The rebels did not take the capital Bamako, but the capture of Kidal was also a big event, because the Russian Afrika Korps considered the capture of this city by government forces to be their greatest achievement. They left the city almost without a fight. We will focus on the events in Mali.

    Quote of the week

This week’s quote goes to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitso. The politician made a wonderful analogy that the world’s energy depends on one person’s mood: “We live in a time when the price of oil depends on how Trump sleeps. If he sleeps well, oil prices will fall. If he sleeps badly and makes a statement, the price will go up.”

    Photos of the week

Let’s finish with the photos of the week. The first photo was taken in Washington. It shows US Secret Service officers providing security after the assassination of Donald Trump at the Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC.

As always, female officers are active in the secret service. If you remember, when Trump was shot in Pennsylvania, a female agent was active in evacuating him. Long live female agents!

The second photo was taken in Norway. A polar bear stands on a melting glacier and stares at people looking at him.

Man is now busy with wars and invasions, but the real problem remains in the shadows. The world’s glaciers are melting at a record speed, and the world’s largest iceberg recently broke up. In this departure, it is natural that a person will face environmental problems that are difficult to imagine…
