Our platforms and personal profiles of the team became the target of a campaign of intimidation, threats and defamation immediately after the public exposure of the illegal promotion of Arbresha Bejeti Ferrati, the wife of the President of the Senate of the University of Tetovo, Kenan Ferrati, reacts from the Forum for Educational Change (FOP).
From there they say that “last night things went further”.
“One person, through fake profiles, but also from his own profile, sent insulting and threatening messages to the family members of the executive director of the FOP, Blandy Hodai. We inform the public and all those who intend to follow a similar path: All cases have been reported to the Department of Internal Affairs in Tetovo. All necessary measures are being taken to shed light on the case. Threats do not pass by us. The University of Tetovo will be freed from crime and academic criminals”, said the FOP.
Director Hodai confirmed through social networks that he was going to report to the police, but at the same time points out that “the more they threaten, the clearer it becomes that we have touched something that hurts you.”
“I just reported a common threat to the Police Station in Tetovo, in connection with the last case we published. The law enforcement authorities will deal with anyone who these days dares to threaten me, my family or my colleagues. You know very well that threats don’t work with me. The more threats they make, the clearer it becomes that we have touched something that hurts you. We will get the truth out to the end. But don’t try again with my family — it is a red line that should not be crossed,” wrote the activist Khodai.
Otherwise, the Forum for Educational Changes (FOP) announced that Arbresha Bejeti Ferati, wife of the president of the Senate of the University of Tetovo, was promoted to full professor, which, they said, violated 15 legal and statutory provisions.
“The case we are reporting clearly shows how the constant mobilization of the chain, of relatives by blood and those by interest, prevailed over the Law, the Statute and any other written rule. There are few bodies within the University of Tetovo that are not involved in this illegal academic promotion. This case is an indicator that the process of promotions no longer has anything to do with how much you know, but who you know,” stressed the FOP.
According to the Forum, the disputed promotion of Arbresha Bejeti Ferati is also shown in the report from the State Educational Inspectorate, and this was made possible through several authorities, including the Teaching and Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine, the Senate of the University of Tetovo and the Review Commission.
The FOP called the current rector of the University of Tetovo, Yusuf Zeineli, to cooperate with the inspection authorities, stating that, according to their information, he refused to sign the minutes of the inspection.
“Furthermore, Zeineli must be held accountable for the fact that this entire chain of legal violations occurred while he was running the university,” the Forum said.
Also, the FOP demands that the Public Prosecutor’s Office initiate an investigative procedure, because, as they state, it is a “well-organized scheme”.
They demand the immediate annulment of Ferratti’s election to the title, as well as the State Educational Inspectorate to determine whether she meets the conditions for election at all, first in the title of associate professor. At the same time, they want her husband, Kenan Ferratti, to be dismissed from his position until the end of the case.
