Since Monday April 27, 2026, citizens have been demonstrating in Cap-Haitien, Northern department, to demand the intervention of the central State for the rehabilitation of these roads and the cleaning of public spaces. The mobilization continues in several districts of the city, where barricades paralyze activities and disrupt traffic. Residents denounce the critical state of the roads and the unsanitary conditions linked to clogged gutters and canals, demanding urgent intervention from the authorities. At the same time, the government announced that it had deployed an interministerial mission in the said department with a view to assessing the situation and responding to infrastructural emergencies.
