Parents and netizens commended a policeman in Makinabang Village after he swiftly brought a sick
baby to the hospital when no ambulance was available on Wednesday, April 29.
Around 5 p.m., the baby’s mother said her child was crying hard and felt very hot, showing signs of a high fever. The
parents ran to the village hall to ask for an ambulance, but there was no time
to wait.
The father then saw Pat. Michael Angelo I. Esluzar, who was on patrol and had stopped at a buko juice stand. He asked
for help, and the officer immediately put the mother and baby in his patrol car and drove them to Allied Care Experts (ACE) Medical Center in Barangay Pinagbarilan.
Doctors gave the baby immediate treatment.
The mother said they were very thankful for the officer’s quick action, which prevented the child’s condition from worsening.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office officer in charge Col. Jay B. Baybayan praised Esluzar, saying his response showed the true
spirit of police service.
“Police officers must be ready not only to enforce the law but also to help people in need,” Baybayan said. “This shows concern and dedication to service.”
He added that police presence in communities is not only for security but also to support residents in times of
crisis.
