The Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska informs that she is familiar with the case of peer violence in a school in Gjorche Petrov and that the institutions are already acting.
She indicated that the school reported the case to the police and social services, and that it took its own measures.
– All competent institutions can act according to the procedures, but without the cooperation of the parents, complete success cannot be achieved. Their role is crucial – said Janevska, appealing to parents to spend more time with their children.
The minister added that new instructions and manuals are being prepared for dealing with such situations, as well as a project related to domestic violence, because, as she said, such phenomena often arise from the environment in which children grow up.
Regarding the new law on higher education, Janevska assessed that the academic community is already showing movement, and the first results of the reforms are expected in three to four years.
– The biggest effects will be felt after about eight years, when we expect to be among the first 1,000 universities in Shanghai list she said.
According to her, the new criteria will require more engagement from the professors, especially in the area of mentoring, research work and participation in international projects.
Janevska also informed that the controls have been strengthened following the determined irregularities in the registration of master’s and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and at a private university.
As he said, after the extraordinary supervisions carried out by the State Educational Inspectorate and the Quality Agency, both cases have been completed and will be reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
