However, a resilient Cannes defence and an inspired goalkeeper kept the score level at halftime, frustrating the visitors after a one-sided opening period.

That upcoming Mediterranean Cup clash, set for May 16 in Cagnes-sur-Mer, will see Monaco United take on Olympique de Marseille Reserves in what promises to be a significant test.
