The Digital and Population Data Service Agency noted that in Finland, a child can be given up to four forenames. However, it said the name should follow “established name practice”, and should not be inappropriate nor cause offence or harm.
Newborns must be named within three months of birth, according to the agency.
“If you want your child to have an unusual name, you should prepare for longer processing times. In general, children’s names are processed in about four weeks, but the processing of more special names takes longer,” it advised.
