From the Prince and Princess to Formula 1 and athletics stars, the stands at the Monte-Carlo Country Club attracted a host of VIPs throughout the 119th edition of the tournament.
The spectacle was not confined to the Rainier III Court. Throughout the week, the stands at the Monte-Carlo Country Club hosted a parade of Monegasque and sporting personalities. From the semi-final on Saturday 11 April, Prince Albert II was in attendance to support Valentin Vacherot against Carlos Alcaraz. Alexandre Grimaldi, his 22-year-old eldest son, had also made the trip, a notable appearance given how rare it is for him to be seen alongside his father. Earlier in the week, Charlotte Casiraghi and the writer Nicolas Mathieu had been spotted together for the first time.
On Sunday, for the final, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène took their seats in the stands. Charlotte Casiraghi was accompanied by her sister Alexandra of Hanover, alongside her partner Ben-Sylvester Straumann. Pauline Ducruet, Louis Ducruet and his wife Marie completed the family delegation. Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, president of the tournament and of the Monegasque Tennis Federation, accompanied the Prince and Princess.
From F1 to basketball, a host of champions
On the sporting front, F1 driver George Russell – currently second in the 2026 championship standings and a friend of Sinner’s – was spotted in the Italian’s box during the quarter-finals. On Saturday, Roca Team players Daniel Theis and Mike James were among the spectators at the semi-finals. On Sunday, Russell and his partner Carmen Montero Mundt were back in the stands for the final, alongside Charles Leclerc and his wife Alexandra, and pole vaulter Armand Duplantis.
Throughout the week, the tournament had also welcomed Usain Bolt, Holger Rune, and drivers Oscar Piastri, Ollie Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto and Alex Albon.
A star-studded line-up gathered to watch Jannik Sinner’s run to the title, as he claimed his fourth consecutive Masters 1000 title and reclaimed the world number one spot in the ATP rankings. Meanwhile, Valentin Vacherot, who was ranked 255th in the world a year ago, has broken into the top 20 at number 17: the highest ranking ever achieved by a Monegasque player.
