The Prat del Roure hosted this Saturday morning the 22nd sports meeting of residences of Andorra and La Seu d’Urgellwith the participation of more than 200 people: 126 residents, 8 residences (including the Red Cross) and one seventy volunteers and professionals. A day that already has 25 years of history and which values physical activity, coexistence and the well-being of the elderly. “I think this event goes beyond sport, as it offers the opportunity for participants to meet again and create bonds that last from one year to the next. It is a festive day that starts in the morning and culminates with a rice paddy, strengthening the feeling of community and the union between the elderly” said the Minister of Social Affairs, Trini Marín.

The initiativethat goes boost in 2001has been consolidated over time while alternating its celebration between Andorra and the Headquarters of Urgell. Although it was to stop temporarily due to the pandemicthe event has resumed its regular schedule. In fact, during the day it was also wanted recognize the work of the people who launched the projectwhile highlighting the importance of the continuity of this type of initiative thanks to the involvement of the administrations and of professionals in the sector.

The The day started at 8.30 am with the arrival of the participants and the subsequent inauguration. Throughout the morning, different adapted circuits and games such as skittlesthe brisca or the trianaas well as other fun proposals such as dominothe rings or the tick-tock. There has also been space for more dynamic activities such as adapted basketballthe basketballthe search-search and the chess. The day will continue with the brotherhood lunch and will close in the afternoon with the awarding of medals and trophies.
