SAN MARINO – ROME – Il San Marino Christian Democratic Party took part in Rome to the events promoted as part of the celebrations for 50th anniversary of the European People’s Party, in the presence of the EPP leadersconfirming its historical roots in the large family Christian Democratic and European People’s Party.
The Political Secretary of the PDCS, Gian Carlo Venturiniparticipated in the round table organized by the EPP dedicated to the theme of recovery of Christian values as a founding element ofEuropean identity.
The initiative took place in the presence of the main representatives and leaders of the European People’s Partyin a confrontation of high political and cultural profile, focused on the need to reaffirm the contribution of Christian-democratic thought in building a more Europe cohesive, supportive and capable of responding to the challenges of our time.
The importance of a policy that is able to put life back at the center was recalled personthe familythe communitythe responsible freedomthe subsidiarity and the solidarity. Values that belong to the most authentic tradition of Christian Democracy and which today represent an indispensable compass for countering populist drifts, exasperated individualisms And social fragmentations.
The presence of PDCS in Rome it also resulted in the participation of one Party delegation at the event promoted by Forza Italia on the occasion of 50th anniversary of the EPP. An appointment of particular political importance, which saw the presence of EPP leadersof the main leaders of Forza Italiaof the blue ministers and numerous Italian and European institutional representatives.
The meeting, dedicated to the role of PPE in a changing Europerepresented a significant moment of discussion on the centrality of popular and Christian-democratic valueson the defense of freedomfrom the peacefrom the democracy and of human dignityas well as on the need to strengthen a European political proposal capable of combining identity, responsibility, development and social cohesion.
