The former president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has stated that the lack of direct, strategic communication with the “Trump” administration constitutes a serious risk to national security.
Through a post on Facebook, Osmani said that this lack leaves more room for Serbia to push forward its false narratives against Kosovo.

The lack of direct, substantive and strategic communication with the highest levels of the Trump administration: President Trump, Secretary Rubio and the President’s policy cabinet, poses a serious risk to our national security and our strategic interests. This lack leaves more room for Serbia to push forward its false narratives against Kosovo.
Kosovo cannot treat the relationship with its vital ally as a secondary issue. Without a strong political partnership with the United States of America, neither our Euro-Atlantic integration, nor the protection of the historical truth about the liberation war, nor the protection of our sovereignty and citizenship can be guaranteed with the security and stability that our national interests require.
