On Thursday, the Public Prosecutor of the Algerian Judicial Council ordered the opening of immediate, urgent and comprehensive investigations into the circulation of video clips, showing people on trucks throwing various foodstuffs and vegetables, for the purpose of speculating on their prices.
The investigations, which will be conducted by various security services under the supervision of the National Pole for Combating Organized Crime, aim to identify everyone who contributed to these acts, or incited them, regardless of their capacity or position.
In addition to revealing the networks and extensions behind them, and tracking the paths of goods and storage and distribution networks. Bringing those involved before the competent judicial authorities, to prosecute them to the maximum extent permitted by the laws.

In the same context, the Public Prosecution confirmed that the law will be applied firmly and without exception to anyone proven involved. Calling on citizens to be vigilant and responsible, and to report any similar practices.
Before adding, “These actions are not considered isolated behavior, nor are they a passing behavior. They are a clear assault on the citizen’s livelihood, tampering with the food security of society, and harming the state’s general economic system.”
“The matter becomes more dangerous when these actions appear in an organized manner, based on coordination and repetition, which reveals the presence of criminal groups that deliberately create crises and aim to harm the purchasing power of citizens,” he added. Source.
