CATTOLICA – How to understand generative artificial intelligence and use it as a creative tool? On Wednesday 28 October, at 9pm, the Snaporaz Salon will host “How AI is human. Or How not to fear the galactic megadirector and learn to address him”, a conference-show with Claudio Paolucci and Rocco Tanica. The event, with free entry and reservations required, represents the zero date open to the public of a project born in Cattolica.
The show takes shape from the dialogue between Paolucci, full professor of Semiotics and Philosophy of Language at the University of Bologna, and Tanica, musician, author and co-founder of Elio e le Storie Tese. The two had already addressed the relationship between artificial intelligence and human creativity during the review of the Multipurpose Cultural Center “What do philosophers do today? Philosophy in dialogue”.
From that discussion was born the idea of transforming the theoretical reflection into a live experience, with the direct involvement of the public. The project took shape through an artistic residency at the Snaporaz Salon, a space also dedicated to theatrical research and experimentation.
At the center of the conference-show will be generative artificial intelligence, with a path that intertwines philosophy, dissemination and practical demonstrations. Tanica will talk about her experience in using these tools and will show in real time how to use them to create and improve texts, images, videos and music, involving viewers in the experimentation.
The aim is to explore the opportunities offered by new technologies and their impact on language, knowledge and creative professions.
“For the first time we find ourselves faced with machines equipped with language capable of generating songs, images and videos starting from a normal chat dialogue,” observes Paolucci, underlining how artificial intelligence can be considered the latest in a long series of tools developed by man to expand his mental abilities.
Tanica also highlights the link between technology and artistic production: “It is simply obvious that today those who create art can (also) use AI to enhance and enhance their creativity.”
The event is scheduled for Wednesday 28 October at 9pm at the Salone Snaporaz, in Piazza Mercato 15. Entrance is free, with reservations required on 0541 966636, during ticket office hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, Saturday from 10am to 1pm. It is also possible to request information via email at info@teatrodellaregina.it.
