KUJALLEQ SAYS STOP
After Brugseni and Pisiffik have been successful in postponing alcohol sales on Saturdays since May, Pilersuisoq is now following suit. From now on, alcohol sales will only begin at 12 o’clock instead of 10 o’clock, but the change does not apply in most of the chain’s stores.
In 11 of Pilersuisoqs shops in the cities, alcohol sales on Saturdays are postponed by two hours. From now on, sales will only start at 12 o’clock instead of 10 o’clock. The new opening hours will come into force on Saturday 17 October.
– The change applies to Pilersuisoq’s stores in the cities. The shops in the settlements are not covered, as their opening hours are shorter, writes director of HR, communication and sustainability in KNI, Juliane Henningsen Heilmann, to Sermitsiaq.
Follows the other supermarkets
Since May, Brugseni and Pisiffik have experimentally postponed alcohol sales on Saturdays. According to the supermarkets, the change has been a success, and the sale of alcohol has fallen by 12-14 percent.
Now 11 of Pilersuisoq’s stores in the cities are following suit.
– The aim is that Saturday mornings should be safe for employees and customers. With the change, we want to protect you better and ensure that customers can shop in peace, writes Juliane Henningsen Heilmann.
