What began as a handful of complaints -revealed by the Investigative Unit of EL TIEMPO, 3 months ago-, from clients who paid millionaire sums to acquire exclusive Ferrari vehicles in the showcase on 103rd Street and 19th Street, north of Bogotá, it has just become a judicial file.
The problems began when the parent company of the exclusive Italian brand decided to cancel the representation in Colombia and Panama of the Autos Italianos de Colombia SA dealership, for having sold it without authorization to third parties. The decision was accompanied by the stopping of the delivery of several vehicles that had already been paid (partially or totally) by clients who claim to have transferred up to 2.2 billion pesos per head.

And although those responsible for the luxurious dealership – which also provided maintenance and workshop services – allege that they had to sell the concession for a debt and that they were going to respond for every peso, EL TIEMPO first learned of complaints against him for the crimes of theft, abuse of trust, fraud, disloyal administration and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The process is already moving at high speed in the Crimes Against Economic Assets Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office, against the company Autos Italianos de Colombia and its partners, Jorge Enrique Carvajales Orozco and the Mexicans Sergio De La Vega and Erik Stolberg.
Furthermore, he denounced Alfonso Salume, new acquirer of Autos Italianos de Colombia, and Autos de Alta Gama Holdings, the company that ended up keeping the shares of the then Ferrari representative firm in the country.

According to one of the complaints, in January 2025, one of the customers bought from Autos Italianos de Colombia a Ferrari 296 GTS HB model 2024, for which it transferred 560 thousand dollars (about 2,271 million pesos) to the company, of which 479 thousand dollars corresponded to the net value of the invoiced vehicle and the surplus, 80 thousand dollars was delivered to pay nationalization taxes and customs procedures.
And it is noted that a settlement of the actual import expenses was made by the dealership itself and a balance of 72 thousand dollars (285 million pesos) was consolidated, which would be in the custody of the company to cover the taxes corresponding to bringing the vehicle to Colombia.
The case is identical, as reported by another renowned Colombian businessman linked to the restaurant sector. They agree that, on the recommendation of Autos Italianos de Colombia, the luxurious vehicles were supposedly transferred to the free zone of Panama to facilitate commercial negotiations, but that the sale did not materialize and the cars were stored in a warehouse on the isthmus.
“To date, they are ‘kidnapped’ in a free zone without nationalization being possible in any of the countries.“, reads the complaints.

Furthermore, in the complaint they explain that, as revealed by the Investigative Unit of EL TIEMPO, In May 2026, the former administrators of Autos Italianos de Colombia transferred share control of the company to Autos de Alta Gama Holdings and then Ferrari Norte América canceled the import license, freezing the operation of the dealership in Colombia.
And they assure that on July 2 the new administration issued a statement saying that they would not be responsible for the resources raised before May 25, 2026.
In fact, the clients are emphatic that, since last June 9 and at least until July 19, they have demanded that the 72 thousand dollars be returned to be able to proceed independently with the nationalization, but which has only received an evasive administrative silence from both the old and new administrators.

And they point out that there was an order to return that money, but that it was blocked: “Mr. Henry Ávila Herrera, in his capacity as former general manager and substitute legal representative of AICOL, expressly stated that the order to return the balance in favor of my client (USD 72,655.48) was fully authorized and ready to be executed, in recognition of the non-transferable nature of ownership of said funds. However, said transfer was blocked arbitrarily and unilaterally by Mr. Erik Stolberg, in his capacity as Financial Director (CFO) of the company, preventing the return of resources to their legitimate owner.”

In this regard, they assure that they will provide statements and evidence to demonstrate that the partners of Autos Italianos de Colombia, Jorge Enrique Carvajales and Sergio de La Vega, in co-participation with Erik Stolberg, planned and orchestrated the withholding of the 72 thousand dollars as a strategy to pressure and civilly sue the Ferrari North American parent company, instrumentalizing the clients’ assets in a corporate commercial dispute.
In another complaint filed against Henry Ávila, former legal representative of Autos Italianos de Colombia, and others, another of the victims indicates that, on July 25, 2025, Autos Italianos de Colombia issued him a quote for a Ferrari Roma Spider F169SP for 410 thousand dollars (about 1,310 million pesos), with VAT included.
And he assures that some 484 million pesos were transferred in favor of Autos Italianos de Colombia, but that they did not deliver the vehicle. Therefore, he asks to verify whether the Ferrari Roma Spider for which he had started paying was indeed ordered from the factory, received an order number and whether it went into production.
“The specific destination of the resources delivered by the victim must also be established, through banking and accounting traceability, since precisely there it can be determined if they were actually destined for the acquisition of the vehicle or if they were diverted to different purposes.“, reads the complaint.
For now, Ferrari North America keeps the concession of the brand’s luxurious showcase in Colombia frozen. And the businessmen involved assure that there is no irregular behavior and that they will respond to customers.
