An extensive leak has called into question the security of the Danish CPR system.
Minister for Digitization Christina Egelund (M) warns that there may soon be news on the way from the security review of the CPR system that the minister has initiated.
– How the future of CPR will shape up, I hope to be able to say something more concrete about within a very short time, says the minister to Ritzau.
On Monday, the minister announced that a major security review of the entire CPR register has been initiated after unauthorized persons had access to the personal CPR numbers of 8.8 million dead and living Danes for ten days.
The lack of security has raised questions about whether the population should have new CPR numbers, or whether the entire CPR system should be changed.
Christina Egelund has previously stated that it is too early to say whether new CPR numbers will be created.
She therefore emphasizes that the review must help to clarify whether the system can be secured better in the future, before it is decided whether the incident gives rise to a major rethinking of the system.
