Maulvi Mohammadullah Zarrar, head of information and culture of Balkh, said that the identification of historical and cultural areas has an important role in introducing the ancient history and cultural values of Balkh along with the development of tourism.
He added that efforts are being made to promote tourism, better introduce historical and touristic places, and provide suitable facilities to tourists, and cooperation with tourism companies will be strengthened.
Hamid Samim, Chairman of Balkh Tourism Companies Association, Balkh University Professor Wazir Ahmed Foshanji and officials of tourism companies also called the creation of similar programs important for the development of tourism and emphasized the need to better introduce historical and natural areas and provide facilities to tourists.
It is worth noting that Balkh has more than 100 historical and cultural monuments and many natural and touristic places along with thousands of years of history.
