The iPads will not return to the primary education centers of the Andorran School. theexternal audit commissioned by Ministry of Education has issued an unfavorable opinion after detecting deficiencies in device control, that can allow bypassing security filters or installing unauthorized applications, according to results presented today by the Secretary of State for Education, Josep Anton Bardina, and the director of the department of Higher Education, Research and Technological Innovation, Xavier Campuzano.
The report, which has included some 97 technical controlsconcludes that the content filter of the Xena educational network works correctly, but that the tools available in Andorra do not allow full monitoring of iPads. Among the risks identified there is the possibility to connect to an external Wi-Fi network and leave the protection perimeter.
As an alternative, the ministry will boost Windows computers and the laptop carts that the centers already have, as well as other pedagogical resources to guarantee the continuity of learning.
