Under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Programme-3 (2025), 163.877 tonnes of rice donated by the People’s Republic of China to support flood victims in Mandalay Region were handed over to the Mandalay Region Government through the Mandalay Region Agriculture Department.
During the event, APTERR Secretariat General Manager Dr Choomjet Karnjanakesorn and Agriculture Department Deputy Director-General U Myo Zaw explained the donation, while the Deputy Director-General presented the 163.877 tonnes of rice donated by the People’s Republic of China to Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung. The APTERR Secretariat General Manager also handed over the donated rice to representatives of flood-affected communities.
The region chief Minister presented a letter of appreciation to the APTERR Secretariat General Manager, while a representative of the flood-affected communities expressed gratitude for the donation. The donated rice, comprising 3,277 bags weighing 50 kilogrammes each, will be systematically distributed through the districts and townships. — MNA/MKKS
