Continue the ‘Josué Vergara Case’ in the national team. The Gent striker, who was initially not called up by the team for the Asian tour, The Panamanian Football Federation (Fepafut) itself announced that the player will be joining the team’s training sessions.
The player arrived in Tokyo, Japan on October 1 to undergo more tests and find out the exact extent of the injury. The Belgian team had informed Fepafut on September 19 that the player was injured in the match against Standard de Liege on September 18, so he was not taken into account at first.
In the Fepafut statement, it is not ensured that the player is still fit to play against Ecuador this October 5, so the final decision will be made between coach Thomas Christiansen, the player and the federation’s medical staff.
Vergara is one of the fittest forwards currently on the national team. The Gent striker has the opportunity to see his first minutes with the team, if he is finally granted medical clearance before the duel against the Ecuadorians.
